Lydden Hill this weekend.
Discussion
Just in case anyone is interested...
This weekend I was racing at Lydden Hill, which is a short, tight circuit near Dover.
It was a double header, and as there's a grid of 24 and 36 of us turned up to race we had qualifying races. This meant the slowest in qualifying 17 raced for the last 4 places on the main grid.
I was in both qualy races, starting 4th and 2nd respectively, and finishing 3rd (getting a small cup for my bother) and 4th, so making it into both main races.
The first main race was going well, and I'd got up to 20th from 23rd, when I clipped a wing and fell off at Pilgrims, I got back on but finished last. The second race was much more successful, as I started 24th and finished 18th.
It helped that someone had pointed out that I'd thrown away the lead of the second qualy race because I wasn't defending going into the hairpin, so I got picked off on consecutive laps, ending up in 4th.
All in all it was a top day, and bargain racing, although doing 120 odd miles on a twisty circuit at 75 miles an hour average was a little fatiguing

It's a bit early to say, yet. I don't just go out for a drive for fun much anyway, and the organic rev limiter kicks in quite early when Claire's about, but I did get tailgated by a tw4t in an M3 the other day and dropped it when I might otherwise have pushed on.
OTOH I pulled up at some lights on a slip road next to a Monaro VXR last week. He was on the phone, so I was away quicker but he only caught me when I lifted at about a lepton. There was a funny wailing noise coming from the passenger seat that turned into giggles when he went past with his foot to the floor
