Hired a Lotus Exige S yesterday for only £150.00
Discussion
Well it was the girlfriends birthday yesterday so I thought I would hire the Exige for the day and take her up to Bath for a shop, a thermae bath spa and a good blast up in the car
I hired the car from Edward at www.westcountrysupercarhire.co.uk I have know Ed for a while as he has had a few of his own cars valeted by myself, when I last spoke to Ed he told me he had to sell the 360CS to put the money in the business, he told me he had bought an Exige S to hire at only £150.00 for the day and a Elise S2 for £100.00 coming soon. Five minutes later I had convinced the girlfriend with a well crafted plan, called Ed back and booked the Exige
I have got to say it was without a doubt the best £150.00 I have spent on a car, the car is just amazing, the power and feel of driving a go kart that can smoke alot of higher priced cars is just fantastic. I could easily live with this car everyday because the buzz and feel you get from a good drive in it.
The car gets alot of attention all good, loads of kids pointing and waving, we were going down a hill when a boy spotted us on his bike, he had his mouth wide open and nearly fell of his bike .
A big thanks must go to Ed for making this such a great experience.
Needless to say my Christmas present is sorted.

Iv always been a bit dubious about hiring a car, its pretty pricey and it would make me want to buy the car itself even more, making me miserable I didn't own one to drive everyday. Is that stupid?
Not stupid at all. People hire cars for all sorts of different reasons. Birthday gift, once in a lifetime experience, no running costs. only in the country once in a while no need to have a car here. Special weekend away.etc I am offering the cars at very low rates of hire in keeping with the salary in my part of the country. Many places charge an obscence amount just because people will pay it.
I hope this clears your query up a bit.
I've just turned 25...
This should open a world of hiring opportunities for me.
Although I see some companies require you to be even older to hire certain exotica
Insurance Question:
Is there really that much difference between the risk associated with a 28yr old Petrolhead compared to one that's a mere 25?
I'm asking this because I consider the majority of (no offense guys) 'older' people I know on here to be more insane behind the wheel than me ...
Granted, many of you have had more experience than me, but then I'm confident most of you have probably had more spills to show for it as well ...
TC_: The Exige looks great by the way!

The insurance companies just state 25,28 and 30 with no explaination meaning we cant sway the figures a bit to get younger people insured on what we or you may think is a more sensible car or that a 30 year old may still have a devil streak in them to put the loud pedal to the floor exiting a roundabout.
It just one of lifes things.
