Initially placed this on the South Wales forum but thought I may have more chance in finding someone with experience of this here - since it happened in Bath (Argyle Street so the notice states).

Can't quite believe it but I have just received a 60quid fine for being in a bus lane!!!

Was in Bath on a Saturday morning a couple of weeks ago, I had actually just collected my M3 CSL from the BMW dealer there after having some warranty work completed. I must have strayed into a bus lane without realising - it certainly wasn't intentional and I have no recollection of it. Got home today and there is a Penalty Charge Notice complete with pic of my car stating the above. The pic doesn't show that I was in a bus lane, it's just a pic of the front of the car.

Anyone had any experience of this? Is there a way out of it? My only defence is that it's the first time I've driven through Bath in a few years, I don't know the area. Oh, and I didn't even notice that at any point I was in a bus lane!!!

Any feedback appreciated.

You drove over Pultney Bridge, didn't you.

The entire length of it is now only open to taxi's and buses. Its an absolute b****r, almost a bad as the sodding busgates.

Unfortunatly, I don't know of anyone who has sucsessfully challenged a ticket.

Yo
u could always ask Wellsway to pay (or maybe not!)

I have just followed the route I remember taking from Wellsway (trying to get out of Bath and head for the M4) and yes, looks like I must have gone over that Bridge.

Guess I'll just pay up.

One of the offices I work at in Bath is by Pulteney bridge & yes there are signs on the bridge & recently installed ANPR cameras too. I guess you've proven the cameras are switched on.
