so im sat here at the pc just after 10pm and hear a loud bang outside, look out the window and see a frontera sat in the back of an astra estate! the driver of the frontera gets out a bit wobbly takes a rucksack from the back seat, locks the doors and walks off up the road, other neighbours have come out because of the noise and try to stop the driver walking off,he then starts to run up the road so i put on shoes and jump in my van and drive up the road to help catch him, followed him into a cul-de-sac where we lost sight of him! I dial 999 for the police and while waiting for them to put me through i spot him led down by the side of a car hiding,i tell the other neighbours "there he is" as im running towards him,he tries to get to his feet so i knock him back down and am kneeling on his chest while still on the phone to the police! other 2 neighbours hold him down while i speak with the police and give them details of where we are etc, they arrived and arrested him on the spot mostly due to him being rather drunk! he also had blood on his forehead and down his face which he sustained due to not wearing a seatbelt and head butting the windscreen out,I go back to where the accident happened and its only then i find out that he has hit a van, carried on to hit a cavalier and then i guess in an attempt to do a hit and run floored it but due to having lost a tyre and being drunk he has gone into the back of the astra pushing it a good 10ft into the rear of a micra that was parked infront of that!.I then had to give a statement of what i saw/did etc and now sitting down with a cup of tea! thats my good deed for the week, it's weird when your asked "can you describe him?" your mind kind of goes blank, with it all happening so fast you have to stop and think of what they were wearing/looked like etc

I would have given him a little kick whilst he was on the ground if that were me. Bloody drink drivers.

my car is always tucked away in the garage!
I have to chuckle to myself when thoughts appear in my head of the BiB knocking at the door to inform me he is pressing charges for assault!

Not on my manor he won't. Have been involved in very similar case where scrote wanted to "press charges" but neither us or CPS were having any of it.

Good work that man, nice to see a good result and a bit of people power- Most of the people in my area wouldn't bat an eyelid!

Good work Steve - also a refreshing change to see community spirit in action for the common good.
