Hi all,
Just realised the MOT on my car is up fairly soon and I need to get it in somewhere sharpish to have it's MOT. I have a feeling a few bits and bobs might need doing so i don't really want to have to pay main dealer prices, as I'm skint! Don't really know what to do as i have a horrible image of some backstreet garage seeing me, a student, and ripping me off.

Anyone got any suggestions of decent friendly local garages to do an MOT?

Thanks all,
Rob.

Faced the same problem myself... Always difficult being taken seriously with a ridiculous haircut like mine. Anyway...

Went to Maximum (????) Motors in Howell Rd just at the bottom of Horseguards - used to have a rally prepped Evo parked outside quite a lot.

MOT went fine, no messing me about. Went back this year and needed some work done, which I didn't have time to do myself (and once again I was 100 miles from home with no MOT). They did the work and didn't charge for the retest - which was nice. However they did bugger up one bit of the work. But admitted their mistake and put it right FOC without any fuss.

All in all not a bad lot. Will be heading back in November.

It's a hillclimb and sprint car iirc owned by Barry Squibb, from what i've heard they are pretty good there.
