Just spent an awesome 45 minutes standing in the rain, watching a Williams F1 car pounding up and down the runway about 50 feet away at Kemble (nr Cirencester), followed by a camera tracking car and a big black helicopter.

Looked amazing in the rain - huge rooster tails of spray, and the noise! Not sure who was driving, probably Nakajima or Karthikeyan.

Oh the locals will be pleased, didnt they recently complain about light aircraft taking off & landing!? hehe
Do they test there often, surely this was a one off?

The locals did - and continue to - complain, yes. That'll learn 'em laugh

Actually, the only reason I went up there today was because I popped over to see my parents, and heard the distinctive V8 from nearly 3 miles away biggrin

Not sure they do too much F1 testing there, the last one I know about was a Super Aguri pre-season one.

I saw the Williams trucks exiting Kemble earlier this year. I wouldn't say they use it often, but it is used occasionally by various racing teams - not just F1 either.
