Cheap fuel - this is not a hoax

I was in the Shell garage at Carland Cross (I think this is what it's called) near Truro tonight.

On each pump was a notice saying that on Wed they are selling 'V' power unleaded at the same price as standard. Today that is 93.9p instead of 100.9p.

The garage is the one on the A30 roundabout as it goes into a single lane with one road off to Truro. You'll see the Toyota garage next to it.

Mine will be due a fill-up by wednesday, and I pass Carland Cross most days. Might save me a couple of quid, but definitely not worth travelling out of your way for.

My local Shell has V-Power at 106.9 today.....three price increases since the budget !
My Shell Drivers clubcard arrived today too - straight in the bin !
Thats why I now use BP Ultimate at 97.9 ppl with no discernable difference....

Thanks for that - will fill up tomorrow. I can never understand why Truro fuel is consistently 2-3p/litre cheaper than Redruth, I can only assume that its the commuter traffic from Falmouth passing the Asda that makes the difference.

but the increase imposed from the budget hasn't been added on yet! they held it off untill later in the year,so expect it to rise again! but should come down slightly before hand

I filled up there last night, & v power was 93.9, but there were signs on the pumps saying this price ended at 8pm, so I assume it's back to the normal price now?

As for the costs... I've not worked out why Redruth is more than Falmouth/Truro... or why Bodmin is more again? (normal was 97.9 there on Monday!)
