Anyone is Cornwall or Devon (or anywhere else) fancy a bit of a physical challenge this year?

Hayle Triathlon club has 3 different events running.

I have entered the 'Sprint Race' (like I'll be running fast!) in August. I think it is just one of those things you feel you need to prove you can do.

You know you want to.

Sorry, busy in August:

link to thoroughly daft thing to be doing on 19th August

Unfortunately there does not appear to be an 'Oh 'eck it's getting close' smiley.

Ooooh ek!

No that's a proper fit thing to do.

I worked on the principle that I could already do each of the diciplines alone (before I started any training), therefore I should be able to complete the lot.

Not sure I could do even one from your race. Good luck.

Mrs006 is entering the standard event. Would've gone for middle distance but her swimming's not up to it yet.

Ooh, someone coming to my fair town (well, the nearest one to me). Not been to the IronMan the past couple of years.

Maybe I'll make it this year and cheer you on!

Completed - notice that this is not the same word as 'competed'! - IMUK last year as my first triathlon. The aim was to get fit (again) in a year and it seemed like a suitable goal to have at the end.

Getting to the finish took a bit of doing, but I made it and now I'm looking to bring the time down - although work and injuries have seriously dented my training time, so I'm under no illusions about how difficult it will be on the day.

It's a very different discipline to short-course, or even Olympic, triathlons, though - they're not easier, just shorter.
