Gah, the outlaws are coming and will need entertaining. SWMBO wants to take her mother to Bath Spa and has suggested I take her dad to the footballyikes So, what else is happening locally? (Motorsport is out unfortunately)

I'm wanting ideas of stuff to do too. So far have thought about a long day out to Mumbles or south west coast, or maybe a stately home or wildlife park. Done the Cotswold one recently - that's good for families of all ages. Took my parents there in March.

In preparation for the next BH - there's a balloon fest at Bowood!

Trust me - he needs no encouragement in this area

How about Tyntesfield? Westonbirt Arboretum? Or a boat trip round the harbour - with a carry out or a pub crawl built in?
Or getting a copy of Venue mag and seeing what is in the days out section? There is bound to be something going on in the docks area/Ashton Court this weekend.

Just been for a toddle around the waterfront and if the weather stays like this, Glen's idea is definitely very appealing...

Unfortunately FIL doesn't drink, Claire's the same at the moment and MIL will fall about after half a shandy.

OTOH I have plenty of people to drive me home afterwardshehe

Erm, rather random thing to do at the weekend - but this has popped up on the Intranet at work;

Scarecrow Trail - Down Ampney

Bring your entire family (young and old) to the Down Ampney Scarecrow Trial to raise money for the Church Roof and the Down Ampney Village Shop building fund.

Walk around the village to find the scarecrows and then guess who they are meant to be...the entry at the end of the day with the most correct answers will win a prize. All the scarecrow characters are from books, TV shows or films...so the whole family will be required!

This will be a great day out and a fantastic way to spend your bank holiday as it will friendly on your pocket!!

There is also a craft fair, a raffle(with some amazing prizes) and a colouring competition going on. Refreshments are available throughout the day.

It will be an excellent day (weather permitting) and will be enjoyed by all - I promise!

Down Ampney is off the A419, about 5 miles past Cricklade heading towards Cirencester...it's only about 20 minutes from Swindon, so not all that far to travel at all!!

It doesn't say which day this weekend, I'm sure I can ask for you if anyone's interested
