Has anyone heard of this before? - Looks Great!

www.plymouth-banjul.co.uk

From a little research I can tell you the basic rules are:
The car must cost less than £100.
Modifications for the rally must cost less than £15.
Journey to Banjul takes 3 weeks and covers approx 6000km.
The cars that make it to the end are auctioned for charity.

It looks like the rally is designed to be as cheap as possible but deliver maximum fun and huge sense of achievement etc. The adventure looks epic - New year in Marrakech anyone cool...

Can anyone offer advice/warnings/encouragement?

Cheers.
