Chaps - outdoor karting in the Bristol area. I've got Combe on the list but there must be others? Any recommendations?

Thanks

May be a bit further, but Nigel Mansell's new track at Dunkeswell, nr Honiton has had some good feedback.

Been there - not a bad track.

Went to an indoor track recently - just off J17 of M4, that was pretty darn good too - indoors but is in a hangar and has large open doors.

Sadly no, it's for a stag weekend later in the year. I've found one at Avonmouth. Anyone been there.

I intend to take home the trophy myself.... driving

avonmouth is a good circuit. in my opinion better track and better organisation than hullavington (junct 17 M4).
worthwhile asking about a group discount if there are a fair few of you going aswell. we (bristol uni motor club) normally get 25% (ish) off for student plus group discount.

i dont know about any outdoor places though.

Clay Pigeon is really good - south of Yeovil towards Dorchester. Much bigger circuit than Combe iirc. We went to Clay Pigeon recently and it is a much bigger challenge than indoor Karting - faster and more fun

www.ukkarting.co.uk for full track listings.

If you want a really good race go to St Eval in Cornwall (just outside Newquay) I know its a bit of a trek, trust me it will be worth it!

70mph twin engined pro karts, GP 1200m track with a fly over for £65, or they have a 1000m track for £60 (1200m is only available in the week)

Cheers for the replies all. Settled for Castle Combe in the end - we're paintballing in Swindon in the morning so its nice and close. Just got to hope the weather is good now - though rain is a good leveller and I don't exacly have the physique for Karting so I might stand a chance in a downpour. driving
