Since a lot of garages get a very bad press and we only tend to hear about the negatives, I thought I would redress the balance... And no, I don't work for them. And I hope this doesn't breach any PH rules!

I have used Masters garage on Hotwell Road in Bristol for several years now and always found them to be reliable, honest, quick and cheap. Not to mention within very easy walking distance of my house.

They have just solved an airbag problem on my car which involved removing basically the whole front end and replacing a sensor. From what I understand this took ages and was rather involved, however charged me only an hour's labour, less even than the "book" time.

This has saved me an absolute packet. Audi were looking to charge me around £300 for this job, it has cost me less than half this.

Fair play!

DMS in Swindon - Italian car specialist
Motorama - just outside Swindon - bodyshop and EXCELLENT paint sprayer (got a ding out of the alu bonnet and you can't see it at all)
Imperial Tyres - Swindon - 4 wheel alignments and good prices on tyres - top service
KAM Motors - Swindon - good for MOT and general servicing - have some odd cars there too

5 Stokes in Stoke Gifford get my vote. been going to them for years based on several recommendations. The guy in there is top and they've let me off loads of stuff in the past. Highly recommended!
