Ladies and gentlemen.

I've just had an initial conversation with one of the Cancer Research organisers, and although there is still some investigation ass to logistics and constraints, she would be very interested if a bunch of nice cars could turn up at two events in July; 14th and 15th, in Blandford and Ferndown.

This would just be to 'show' our P&Js to drum up interest in the events (Relay Events).

I know that this is only early days, but she's asked me to gauge interest to see if she should take this forward.

So - who would be available those dates?

Mods - is it OK to post this, this way? I'll probably need to copy it to at least one other forum.

Big Al.

I could be available for the Blandford meet. Got family nearby and could probably arrange a weekend visit.

Can I say a big 'maybe', its only a couple of hours from me, though too far in advance to know my schedule, or even if i'll have a car worth taking?

Hi Gordon,

It will be part of the Cancer Research relay for life event www.cancerresearchuk.org/relay/

She hasn't told me exactly where the events are, but I believe that they are both in schools. As I say, early days (even though it will happen in July) but she was most interested in the suggestion that I made to her collegue. She's after things to draw the crowd in, and cars might do that.

As for what cars, I thought that clasics, exotics, sports cars or concours cars (I'll post this on detailers world too). I'm not sure yet how many cars she would be after as she is having meetings next week about access and logistics.

I believe that this event will be the flagship of Canceer Research in future, and although this year is a bit last moment if it is both useful and enjoyable we could become a regular part of it.

Jim all offers gratefully received at this point. I still don't know what the parameters/scope/constraints are yet. The bigger it is the more we can have. I'd be happy to look over your car for one.

Hmmmm. Concours.... Maybe I could try to roll in a Detailing Company.....
