Missus had her 6month old Fabia VRS reversed into a few weeks ago and had the bumper split.Chap admitted liability and insurance co.swung into action and within a couple of weeks it was booked in to be repaired.Because shes a driving instructor she wanted the car off the road for as short a time as possible and the bodyshop said they'd get a new bumper, spray it and get it in for a day or two to fit it.Spot on.4 days and some excuses later she went to pick it up.Bumper coming unstuck on corners( two piece bonded)panel gaps uneven ,and too much paint applied on edges causing it to lump up."Are you happy with that" they asked. No she said."Its because you wanted it done in a hurry"they replied."You'll have to have it back" said my missus. It went back in Wednesday and picked it up yesteday and what a load of shite it still is. Looks like they have stuck the corners down with silicone or something on the outside of the panel and sprayed over it and now its bulging further around the corner(ready to come unstuck)Panel gaps not sorted and some half hearted attempts to sort the paint defects.Car also covered along one side in what appears to be grey overspray from another car.Not happy!!!Bodyshop shut yesterday by the time she got home so rang the Insurance Co. and lodged a complaint.Got to go and see the bodyshop Monday morning when they re-open.Anyone else used a certain bodyshop in Glastonbury ( the ancient Isle of AVALON ) and not been happy with their work?Do I insist they get another new bumper and start again?

You don't have to use the shop nominated by the insurers. Insist strongly that you use one of your choice and get it put right. Don't accept crap work.

Having a hire car paid for by the insurers for the duration of the repair does seem to speed things up somewhat. Can't think why...
