HELP - Ever used Performance Direct - Bristol?
Discussion
Nope, never heard of them.
I've had a quick butchers at their stock list - they aren't the cheapest I've seen, but then again, you may be getting excellent backup & warranty. I'm sure someone'll be along shortly with something more constructive to say though.
What're you looking for anyway?

I agree....there's nothing more satisfying than sorting a niggle out. TVR's aren't the only cars that have niggles
Anyway, Sam you don't want any of that Jap nonsense oops, sorry just remebered you've got one already .....get yourself a part of British motoring heritage and a soundtrack to die for
I don't know Jap cars and cat clubs
See, look what you've done. I've always wanted an Evo or a Subaru, now I want a TVR, aarrrghhh! Must admit doing a tunnel run sandwiched between several TVR's is a lovely sound to the ears! Funny thing was though last Monday a Furballer, after doing a tunnel run in his Tuscan without breaking down, got to the Ace Cafe and everytime another car pulled up his alarm went off. It went crazy when a bugatti arrived. You only had to breath within 5ft of the damn thing and it went off. Became quite embarrassing by the end of the night. People were saying 'wouldn't want to live in the same street as him!

Ah at last, you must mean an Esprit turbo with a s/steel custom exhaust on full boost
Yours did sound rather fine going down to Shepton, I recall
Buy a supposedly reliable car and get niggles then you will be disappointed and furious.
Buy a supposedly unreliable car then you can only be pleasantly surprised thus making ownership more enjoyable
QED buying a TIV leads to more enjoyment than a chav-mobile, sorry I mean evo and ilk

Used him a couple of times.Done a backwards deal with my Cavvy GSi for a Astra Sri with him a few years back and that was good as gold and he bought my M3 Evo from me for a better price than anyone else.Been around for a good few years now so must be doing something right!Comes across as a bit of a "wide boy".Adrian is (use to be ) the main man.
Not bought from them, but went to view a (lovely!) 330Ci there a year or so ago...
As said, the car was in a good condition and yes, Adrian came across as a bit of a wide-boy, but he's a nice guy and could talk the hind legs off a donkey...
As far as I could work out, he travels the country a lot picking his cars from auctions and he knows similar people in the trade in London (I think gets a lot of his cars from there) - especially cars that are p/x'ed for more exotic brands. (That was the story with the BMW, anyway...)
If it helps, he does seem quite picky about the cars he gets in, which is always a good sign, so go along and have a look. As already said, the prices are a bit high, but p/x prices are usually OK - he wasn't sure about my S3, but in the end gave a half decent price for it.
I didn't end up buying there in the end, but it was one of my better trade experiences!

Looking for either a Subaru or an Evo. Need to test drive both, then make my decision.
well, theres Subaru and Mistu garages around the area.
Better to try them at the respective garages.
From my investigation when I looked at getting a Evo VIII FQ-320:
Service intervals: 4500 miles, and not cheap - I think the scoobies are 12k
Interior: the Evo was like an airfix kit, very dissapointing, Scooby does look better.
Driving: Not driven a scooby, so cant compare, though the Evo was 'okay', my driving style isnt suited to narrow torque band Jap turbos, so i wasnt that impressed, but the VIII rode the bumps well, handled fine, but I never pushed it, apparantly the harder you push the better it gets, but I cant comment.
I went there once to have a look at a 106 XSi many years ago...The guy was wearing mittens - Very odd attitude. Wasn't really interested in selling the car to me. Said there'd be someone else to buy it if I didn't and that was after me just asking some simple questions...I walked away. By the way - I have a TVR now
