Drat, I got flashed by a camera on the roadworks between Bristol and Bath tonight.

It was very quiet, perfectly safe etc. etc. I was only *just* going faster than everbody else. Any chance it was a 'warning' shot or am I in for a nasty letter?

I dislike being policed by a computer...

Should I ask for evidence?

Double-drat.

Those cameras on that stretch of M4 are annoying. They have a dish attached to each camera, so no film is in the camera, so I think you will be receiving a letter from the law.

I got one flash from one when they first went in, wasn't really paying attention & flash. No letter in the post though.

Thanks.

Two flashes as I recall.

Speed somewhere between, hang on a minute this is a public forum!! A bit faster than the general flow, but nothing drastic.

Touch wood etc.

Annoying is one word for it.

This makes me think of an advert I saw for this stuff you spray (not you sir, but naughty people) on the licence plate which reflects the flash making the plate unreadable. Anybody every tried this? Is it legal? I would guess it isn't.

If you get a letter from the Police, look at this website BEFORE you do anything www.pepipoo.com/

Particularly the forum and the judicial process. I followed their recommendation of a PACE letter etc and the Police have now run out of time. I've saved 3 points and the fine.

I have a look round the site. It appears that if you reply with a PACE letter you can 'get off'. Can it really be as easy as that?
