Hi all, got a wedding to attend this summer in Tipton and was looking for any recommendations on places to go, eat and stay. Cheers

Being a local (3 miles up the road from Tipton) I think I can say I know it reasonably well - plus this 'in-laws' live there.

Not sure about the staying (don't have to being local), but the eating thing I know a bit about. Have to agree with the Jack-In-The-Green at Rockbeare. Wonderful food and very friendly. Can get busy at weekends - especially after 'Good Food Guide' mentions, etc.

The Golden Lion in Tipton St.John itself is pretty good, or always used to be. I've not eaten in there since it changed hands, but have heard good things.

For some quite posh nosh in modern surroundings, I can recommend the 'Puffing Billy' ant Exton, just outside Exmouth - only a few miles away.

There are many more. Are you a restaurant person, or a pub person? - just narrow down my list!

Can't make it John. Well, I could, but I'd probably lose some or other important part of my anotomy - wedding planning jobs to do!!

I'm sure I'll hear some of the antic though. On a still day the sound travels from Wiscombe to Ottery.
