Devon accommodation advice please
Discussion
Hi all,
Me and the missus fancy a trip to sunny Devon around the end of June. What we would like to incorperate is the following,
1 weeks stay
1-2 days diving for me
Swimming pool, spa etc. for the missus whilst i'm off diving
Nice walks (nothing too much cos she'll be 8 months preggers!)
Good food
Beer (again for me cos of above)
Easy access to most things
Budget = No more than £1000 all in.
All info greatly appreciated.
cic.
p.s. As an after thought, is it worth going into a travel agent for this type of holiday??

Blimey - erm where do ya start really! As with anywhere in the country, there are thousands of places to choose from... camsites to flagship hotels!
As for direct recommendations..? Unfortunately, I'm not best placed to comment mate because I live down here and have no need to stay places, but there are some stunning options
I wouldn't necessarily say a travel agent is needed - I'd just web search for 'Holiday accomodation in Devon' or such like
Sorry I've not been a little more direct for you and probably just stated the bleeding obvious actually, but I hope you find something. It's a beautiful place and the available choices are extremely varied

I think you need to travel around instead of basing your self in one place. You said Devon but its worth looking at Cornwall aswell. Maybe a day or so in Minehead, follow the coast to barnstaple, travel down to Newquay, nice drive, then cut over to the English rivera & Torquay, Brixham, back up to Dawlish then get on the M5 at Exeter & motor home.
A good driving holiday & the joys of it are your not tied to being somewhere at a certain time, if you like the look of a place, stop & stay until you want to move on. Enjoy the freedom...with a little one on the way make the most of it!

Best way to see Devon and Cornwall is via a superb group of hotels run by the Brend family. Check out the site brend-hotels.co.uk or the sister site devonandcornwallbreaks.co.uk. They cover all of Devon and Cornwall and if you are travelling down the M5 from Bristol direction get off early and follow the route over Exmoor maybe with a first stop at The Saunton Sands Hotel - you won't believe the view from the hotel - staggering!
I live in Devona dn know Cornwall well - there's some amazing drives along the coast and over the moors but best done early morning particularly in June.
Much more available if you need it.
Have fun!
