Optimax Shortage!!

Just been to Clevedon Service Station - they are out of Optimax
Apparently all the Optimax in this part of the world comes from Hemel Hempstead, and Shell have yet to get supplies from another depot.
I had to make do with regular unleaded, but the Z4 does run more sweetly on loopy juice.
1. Has anybody else been faced with this problem?
2. If not, where's a nearby (to Clevedon) Shell station to brim up?
(I need to ensure that I have a full tank of the good stuff for a high octane Boxing Day hoon)

PS Don't panic buy - leave some for me!

Wraxall was out this afternoon as well.

Read somewhere that the shortage is due to the tankers normally used to delivery optimax being redeployed shifting aviation fuel to Heathrow (normally served via a pipe direct from Buncefield).

Haven't checked Gordano services yet, but Tesco in Brislington does 99 RON.

The one at Clevedon is always running out, that's about 5 times this year I know of.

Is Wraxall(sp?) Nailsea? Didn't know there was an optimax supply there, where abouts? I usually go to the M5 services near Brent Knoll when Clevedon's ran out, but obviously the price aint good.

No Optimax in Taunton itself.

M5 Taunton Deane Services still have some, but apparantly not much.

I asked the guy at the Services if there was a shortage. He said they were told LAST WEEK that they would not get another delivery until the New Year.

Asked at the Shell garage in Cheltenham yesterday and apparently no Optimax until mid-late January.

I've found the same problem in the Swindon area. I have a half a tank left. Considering mixing in some normal UL and running a 50:50 mix and hoping it lasts, rather than waiting until im out and filling up with it.

I've been running Esso 97 (Hotwells) and Tesco 99 (Brislington) with no problems. Very few cars have to have 98 Ron even if it is recommended that they do.

Still no optimax anywhere in Bristol.

Fresh Optimax delivery in Cheltenham. Tanker last seen heading towards the M5, I would've given chase but was too busy filling my diesel up with a tankful of the aforementioned Optimax .
