What a crock, seems to me that there are ALWAYS roadworks somewhere between W-s-M and Avonmouth.

During the work, the three lanes will be kept open for traffic in each direction between Portishead and Clevedon, but there will be no hard shoulder. A contraflow will be in use and speed limits will be reduced.

I see they conveniently left out the last scentence:

"...and speed cameras will be installed"

3 lanes left open? erm, i think not, judging by the fact that a lane was closed today when I came to work.

I travel M5 and M4 to go to work and for months have had 2 sets of works to go through with 40 mph speed limits (presumably they think the workers will survive being hit at 40, but not the previously used 50 ?). I am all for improvements and accept there has to be some disruption - but come on Highways Agency, at least finish one set before starting another !
