Shopping!
Reaches for lifeline .....
A bit further afield I know, but beats the hell out of shopping.......
The Weston Beach Races are on this weekend.
It's the world's largest motorcycle race, apparantly.
It is certainly entertaining.

Here's another tip, slightly more local for you.
It's the Newton Abbott Audi Stages this weekend
A proper mixed surface stage event this, with stages on Saturday
Based in Newquay - I'll be there running service for one of the competitors.
edited to say that due to last minute access issues, the rally is now running as a single day event on the Saturday only

Your wish is my command
On Saturday:
1. One spectating area is planned for Saturday, and visited twice in the day – the rally will go through 4 times in all, twice one way (first car 11.07am ) and then twice the other way in the afternoon (first car 2.04pm). Action should be virtually non stop!
2. This area will be manned by marshals whose role is to help spectators enjoy safe watching of the event.
3. Please be sensible and observe any instructions/requests made by the Marshals - they have your best interests at heart!
4. There will be a "course car" travelling the stages ahead of the rally. The Clerk of the Course (in this car) will not allow the rally to start the stage until he is happy about safety, and that of course, means spectators being stood sensibly.
The spectator stage is as follows:
Halvana Plantation, sponsored by Ginsters: Just South of the A30 and East of Jamaica Inn (OS map ref: 201/202 776). Spectator entrance will be "Arrowed".
The stage is run twice in the morning - first car due at 11.07am and then twice in the afternoon - first car 2.04pm. Car parking is £5.00
Not that I would advocate it (of course) but should you have the relevant OS map, I would think it would be reasonably easy to work out where the stage is going, and walk in to watch, avoiding the dreaded "spectator pens"
I'm running service for car 43, and may also be found at car 3's area - come and say hello if you're around.

K50 - This will be your teams then?
It were pi**ing it down!
That will indeed be us
Thanks for the pic - wasn't expecting that!!!
You think you were wet whilst spectating, you should try servicing the damn car twice in torrential rain with no gazebo!!
Do up the sumpguard bolts sir......hold on while I get my wet suit and snorkel sir!!!
Anyway, all the effort was worth it as we managed 1st in Class and 16th O/A - good result for a 1400 Corsa.

If you want a 'proper' pic, there was 3 of us there taking pics.
I should be able to get you a contact sheet with pics on. You will have to pay if you want prints, as I was there under the banner of SouthWest Event Photography.
edit: BTW when & where is the next round?

Contact sheet would be great, I think they're normally sent to the nav? but if not then i'd appreciate it. (also of car 3 and 62 as well if you've got em.)
The next (and final) round of our championship is the Trickey stages near Taunton on November 26th
This should be an interesting event, as we've just bought a seriously quick new motor (1400cc w/ 180+ BHP) so our times should be interesting.
