Hello all, been a while but recently finally made the plunge from BMW to Porsche. Very new to the brand and wanted to find out who the goto garages are for Porsche around our area?

Car is still under warranty so main servicing will remain at Dick Lovett but any additional oil servicing and tinkering I would want to throw elsewhere.

Be careful not to invalidate the Porsche warranty by having work done outside the Porsche dealer network.

Aren’t there laws these days to stop this sort of controlling behaviour by manufacturers, holding warranties to ransom?

I think there is a difference between the manufacturer warranty on a new car and an extended warranty which is essentially a purchased insurance product.

There are - but the 'do you feel lucky?' point is well made.

Porsche are not cheap to fix if something goes wrong, I'd want to be certain I was covered.

I have SCS Honiton do most non-scheduled service work on my cars leaving Exeter for warranty and 2 year service intervals. Never had a problem with SCS annual oil changes, brake pads/discs. I use Center Gravity for suspension track set-up again no issues.

Thanks all, contacted 3 of the suggested about fitting a cargraphic valve controller. Hear the points on warranty and have read some horror stories. Still in the new car warranty period for just over a year which gives me a bit more confidence ahead of the the later approved used!

Another vote here for Cameron Sports cars who I know very well as I worked with a few of them at Dick Lovetts years ago. Tim, the service manager and trained technician is a great chap who knows his stuff. They really pride themselves to offer as close to a main dealer service as possible at half the price. They have looked after my 930 for over ten years and continue to give me great advise and a tailored service plan to suit me and my car.
