I'm back down Cornwall in a fortnight.

I've driven b3276 and b3306 what other roads should i look for ?

Also location wise where would you stay for a driving holiday ?

Normally i come down and run loads so either stay Newquay or st ives.

Local to me, any road to/from Callington has gradients and twisties that will bite you if you get it wrong.

Coast road from Portreath to Hayle, then go from St Ives to lands end, then lands end to Newlyn, Newlyn to Marazion.

Take a day, take your time, stop and look at loads of interesting old mine buildings /views/old villages /lands end/Porthcurno/merry maidens/newlyn/pz prom/Marazion and the mount and bay views.

Loads of food places, pick a dry sunny day and it's great.

The B3254 Launceston up to north of Bude. Awesome piece of tarmac.

Thats a great bit of road. Depending on what car I've come down to Cornwall in I always try and get a late night or early morning run on that little stretch.

It is, if you can avoid all the "Van Life" w*nkers that have ruined Cornwall. I like the bit by Hell's Mouth Cafe but they need to fill in the potholes in their carpark.

"Van Life W*nkers" laugh

Yeah, that bit is a great set of corners. I must admit, I have not been down there for a while, maybe last year was the last time, but I am going down Friday night for a week to visit my mother with my eldest son so I am hoping to get chance to give it a thrash when I'm down..

It's got everything, a few nice straights, some bendy bits, a small rollercoaster, blind corners with either cyclists or people walking dogs in the road, old gits doing 40 in the NSL sections and s doing 60 through the 30 at whitstone.

A better road is the A39. Bude to Bideford is enjoyable.

Ssh! Ssh! Don't tell everyone... actually that is pretty much my favourite as well. Epic on those rare occasions you can get a more or less clear run. And love that whole area.

I grew up down there and remember the road as it used to be - before the 'new' bridge. It's a shame that Ford and Fairy Cross had it's rather unique name changed - it was Ford and Fairy Cross in one direction and Fairy and Ford Cross in the other. Some deliberate and amusing confusion. smile
