Just discovered this place in Neil_cardiff's area (Long Ashton area just south of Bristol suspension bridge).

What's it like?

Seem to have an interesting range of cars from SLKs to 3.2 carreras and CL55's.

But also it seemed like a showroom left behind at Chernobyl - the showroom was locked and half the building appeared to be some sort of abandoned Iraqi military outpost (no offence meant!).

I wasn't confident enough to walk around the back and chat, since I don't look like I could afford to buy or run any of the cars there (which is almost true) and figured I'd just be wasting their time...

I've not used them myself, but I know a guy who has and rates them well.

I bought both my Chimaera's from Dominic, who I found to be a thoroughly pleasant chap, even when I did manage to really p155 him off with the problems I had with the second Chim.

Long story short, but car had to go back to him three times, also to another local indie twice, to fix what was ultimately knackered head gaskets (both). Considering that I live a good 100+ miles away from him there was plenty of time and money spent in transporting the car to/from him.

Cost to me? £0, he even picked up the bill at my local indie.

That said, it was shortly after I bought my second Chim that he moved back to primarily selling Porkers, but he claims there was no link, and that I wasn't a bad customer really!

I've known Dom for about 18 years. I've known a lot of people who have bought cars from him. His previous premises were in Alma Vale Road, Clifton. His current place in Failand has a far larger showroom, it's own workshop and lots of parking etc.

There is a dark blue/purple with cream interior Chim there at the moment, very low mileage (17k IIRC), no price up though.

Dom's a pleasent enough bloke.

Though he took my first Griff off my hands and sold it straight after for a tiny profit, and because of that, it smarts a little that he didn't offer me a better price...

oh well, that's business I suppose.

"tiny" or "tidy"

If the former, I can't see what the problem is

I guess that's business... if you think about it, with that sale he also takes on responsibility for the car; i.e. if anything goes wrong with it in the next 3 months or maybe more, he could end up making a loss on the sale.
