Clubs with hire cars?

Hi all, I’m turning 18 soon and I’d like to have a go at a track day and maybe start working towards a racing license if I enjoy it. Unfortunately I drive a Peugeot 308 and (correct me if i’m mistaken) I don’t think it would handle being thrown around a track

I was wondering if there are any clubs in the South West that offer track days with vehicle hire. All I can find from my searches are the experience days you get on Groupon, which seem to be targeted at people who just want the novelty of driving a fast car slowly for half an hour.

Failing that, could anyone recommend some potential modifications I could make to my little Peugeot to make it track-day capable?

Some experience days are better than others, give them a call and try to see who is catering for the “birthday present “ market and who might be able to offer more track time with an instructor in a less desirable car.

A 308 will be slow on track but if you want to see what track driving is like, just don’t drive to the limits of the car. You’ll likely need new brake pads at the end but be sensible, do short sessions to stop you really over working parts, and yourself, and remember no one really cares what you’re driving if you’re safe, courteous and polite.
