I'm looking for an autoelectrician a proper one that doesn't need a Haynes book or plans on the internet. Had a disaster using a local place who said they could do it and ignored me when I said the Forester STI is wired up differently to the UK XT model or in fact any other Forester model.

Live in Portishead so the closer the better.

You could try J’s, but he’s always flat out! http://www.jsautoelectrical.co.uk/

I guess people are looking on the internet for wiring diagrams because there are none.

Hard to fix without the right data. I wouldn't fancy that, and I'm an auto sparks.

That's worrying to hear. So I might be in total limbo then.

What's up with it. I'm on a roll today after fixing an X5 that had just had £1300 spent in BMW for no improvement. (Loose terminal in the power distribution board). Yessss!!!!. Sometimes I love this job.

Well originally the front passenger window got stuck half way up. Would go down but not up which I hear is very unusual.

Put into the local garage as my mechanic isn't an auto electrician and they seemed confident it was an easy fix. They decided it wasn't a problem with the passenger window controls but the drivers side controls.

They had the car for about 4 weeks and said they had fixed it but now the rear left window won't move. So I agreed to take the car as I needed it for a trip and I wasn't confident they would be able to fix it.

So very long story short the Speedo sometimes reads zero even on the motorway and the rear passenger still doesn't move.

Just to update the thread if anyone else is searching for the same problem. It's currently in with Avonmouth Auto Electrical who seem like a really decent place. Had regular updates from the people there and some promising noises. Fingers crossed otherwise I'm really unsure where to go next.
