Cornwall August 6th-13th

Morning! We'll be in Cornwall, Mawgan Porth to be exact, between these two dates. Is there anything car-y going on at all?
I can't see anything on Google so just wonddering if there were any small meets, etc going on.
Also any recommedations for car hire for a day? Something a bit different to do have a plod around in.
