I'm not the biggest fan of caging wild animals, but sad to see Clifton Zoo is to close. Used to love it as a kid.

Bristol Zoo.

Looks like relocating to their larger site just outside the city rather than totally closing.
Probably a good thing as the Clifton site is very small.

That's actually quite sad but understand the logic. Surprised visitor numbers were falling though.

He did well that parking attendant. It’s an amazing story.

But very very High in value....

As for the relocation site - we went there earlier this year, lots of potential (big car park!) and the investment there showed it was only a matter of time tbh

Thought he retired to Barbados or somewhere like that?

I’d love for it to have been true. Sadly not.

Relocation is definitely a good idea. The Wild Place site is great, much better access and parking and tonnes more space for the animals. In previous years we’ve had joint membership for both and attended Wild Place far more frequently.

The sale price of the Clifton site will ensure Wild Place has world class facilities, I just hope entrance costs don’t increase beyond the already relatively high prices.
