I was wondering if we had any Motorcyclists who commuted into Bristol each day 9-5

If so what's the average duration of your commute? I'm tempted to switch from Bus or Car to a 125cc. Passed my CBT last year but haven't ever made the jump as they keep dangling the train over us here.

Not done that commute on my bike for a few years due to my spinal surgery but when I did it the time was fairly consistent whatever the traffic.
I cant remember the exact time, it was a lot lot less than the car.
I recall it being 30 minutes, but cant really remember whether or not that included the suiting and booting time.
Drive it in your car at a steady 30 mph or so on a day with little traffic such as Sunday evening and that will give you a good idea of the time you would achieve on a bike with traffic on the A369. If the traffic is flowing at 30 or 40mph you would tuck in with it, if it is going slower or stopped then you would be overtaking on your bike.

It is around 25 mins regardless of route.

Pretty easy commute, especially compared to the bottle necks in the car and there is plenty who do it.

If you look on Facebook there is even a group for Portishead motorcyclists who occasionally meet for a drink or a rideout.

I wouldn't hold your breath for that train
I can drive from near Noahs Ark to Queen Square in about 15 mins at late afternoon. That's with a bit of traffic on Cumberland Basin that you would sail past though.

Thanks for the replies, I was going to ask about routes so nice to have some options. Half an hour would be a dream!
