Can't do it anymore, residents/police/parking hitlers got us moved on.

The organiser sorts out meets at other local locations instead now.

Do they not have occasional meets at QS ? Also, I think the amount of cars and dubious behaviour have / will assist in getting it moved on. Bristol CC is anti car to start with, so doesn't need any help.

I have been told (by Brian the coffee chap) that there are small meets on the last Sunday of the month in Queen Square now. Has anyone been to one yet ?

It was the fact it turned into a Facebook party that got it stopped - too many cars behaving in an antisocial way. When it was the Avenue Drivers Club the turnout was eclectic, interesting and polite; never any problems with residents or police.
Such a shame it was hijacked.

Apparently that's what the new meets are. The more "mature" crowd with a smaller turnout, but better behaviour. The Police and council are supposedly ok about it too. I might give it a go again, as I lost interest when it turned into a free for all.

Yes, last one very quiet more police and traffic wardens than cars. One before still had owners being irresponsible.

We like quiet laugh I'm at Race Retro on the last Sunday this month, but will try and make the March one.

Sounds like it might be worth wandering down there. Last Sunday of the month?
I remember talk a while ago about a meet in the Cotswolds based on the 'older' crowd. Did anything ever happen about this? Personally i think that would be great - meet in a nice village and maybe a drive around afterwards

Interesting topic - The guy which runs the show now for QS is a complete and utter tool. I have friends who work at the dealerships that Dan Grazier (QS owner) 'pops' into constantly. He expects god-like treatment, will eat all of the biscuits (reserved for buying customers), acts like a child, then demands a "test drive". For some reason having a FB page now entitles the page owner to the same rights as a fully fledged motoring journalist.... Not..

Unfortunately and I don't blame Dan for trying, he now has a reputation at the dealers in Bristol, Swindon etc. The staff at dealerships know who he is and his attitude is his downfall. All I hope for is he continues to argue with his FB members, as it is truly cringe-worthy and hilarious at the same time.

Oh, and his write-ups are bloody awful!!!! They are just the ramblings of a muppet.

I didn't intend to until I saw your post this morning. I popped down about 9.30 & there was about 10 cars. I didn't stay long as had things to do but a good selection of UK classic to modern american. And no one speeding around smile

Sounds better than the Facebook/ instagram meets. I shall have to drag myself down there next month.

Interesting to read through this thread. Several years since I last attended QS. I recall fond memories of gentle folk, cracking selection of cars old and new and much freindly knowledgeable chatting. Oh and not a traffic warden in sight.

After years of attending Bristol Italian auto Moto day, it's a shame to have seen it end (not sure when it did)

Looking at attending these if things aren't antisocial!
