I've bought myself a clio 182
And with a track day coming up I need a rear harness bar made and fitted

Just wondering if this would be cheaper than buying a cage

I'm in bristol

No way woud I ever have a harness fitted with no roll cage!!

Should the worse happen and you roll the lack of cage will allow the roof to collapse, you will be held in place by the harness....see where i'm going with this?

You can get a premade one here:

I have no comment to make on whether or not they are a good idea.

I would like a cage but my insurance company won't cover me with a cage installed

I'll be happy to just run with a harnes bar
My other cars had the same
R34 skyline
Audi tt
And now the slowest of all the 182

I'm genuinely interested in this, as I've been considering a harness bar for the TR but without a roll bar. (I do possess a roll bar, but I've taken it out because I think there's more risk of me fracturing my skull on that, than flipping the car.) Inertia reels seem a bit 'iffy' in a TR – I like the idea of being well strapped in. But on the other hand if of real world experience suggests it's even more dangerous then I'll persevere with inertia belts.
