Any local PHers fancy some karting?

See post below for details.

Out of interest, why Cheddar over Haynes?
Both are South West Karting, but slightly longer outdoor tarmac track vs. an indoor concrete one, I'd normally choose the outdoor. (Plus the chance of rain to make things really interesting)

I could be tempted either way - Haynes appeals because its just up the road and haven't tried it yet, but Cheddar is hardly a long drive away. Just tend to find indoor tracks a bit mickey mouse.

Just had our works do at Cheddar. Had a great time, track was pretty slippery but that added to the fun. I think there is a track in or near Exeter that looks good and one on the outskirts of Bristol (Gordano services) that has electric karts.
I'd be up for coming,

I would be up for this.

It does look like Mansell raceway is open already and is quite a good track.

How are numbers coming along?

This kind of fell on its arse last time, but I'd still be up for organising something if anyone's interested. Apparently South West Karting at Haynes does an 'open grand prix' night for all comers. Might be worth a look.

I'd be interested. A couple of the guys at work might be too if at Haynes.

I'd probably be up for this, depending on the track and date.

How about the weekend of 20/21st October?

Or

10/11th November?

Let me know your preference on day and track. Both Mansell Raceway (Dunkeswell, near Honiton) and the Haynes Motor Museum track are open for arrive and drive sessions both days. We could just pick a session and pre-book individually so no one would have to transfer money or anything like that. Alternatively, happy to look into organising a group booking for a proper race format.

I could be tempted. Take it that's in the evening?
