Hi all.
Staying at the Rudloe Arms for 2 nights near Corsham as we are doing Bath and the Christmas market on Wednesday.
Having dinner in the Rudloe on Tuesday night but looking for recommendations for the Wednesday night.

Good luck with the market, the coaches are here in force with armies of over excited (mainly) ladies pushing and shoving to buy a wooden tie or some such similar must-have festive fare.

It's great for the City but it makes that area pretty much a no-go area for us miserable bah-humbug locals that work here smile

An oasis of calm to retreat to if needed!

Some good suggestions in the other post. I will just add that I ate at Loch Fynes last night and it was fantastic. Food was delicious and the service was excellent.

Thanks again.
Have to admit, this is more for the Mrs than myself.

Nice to see my neck of the woods mentioned on here, I grew up yards from the Rudloe, used to deliver the papers there on my round when I were a lad.

Can't help too much with the Bath side of things as I never go there but The Quarrymans Arms is just down the road from the Rudloe and is a real traditional English country pub that also happens to do great grub.

The Pear Tree in Whitley is good and has a nice range of gins as well. I've also heard the Rusty Stag, in Broughton Gifford, is pretty good as well.

Thanks again all for the tips and info.
Enjoyed our stay at the Rudloe Arms, it’s a very interesting place. Probably not for all, but we loved it. Great food in the restaurant and the breakfast was epic. The man himself was there and kindly gave us a tour of the lounges and the artwork in them, you could tell he has and still is investing a lot of time and money here.
I will certainly be going back.
