Just a heads up if you park at the cheaper silver parking at Bristol Airport as opposed to the long stay.

It’s a remote location so needs a bus to get to the terminal as opposed to a walk.

But here is the best bit you have to check-in your car! Its because they need the keys to park it further away!!!! I for one don’t like the idea of this but had no choice as was booked for me and no time to sort out.

Supposedly it’s brought back to near the bus drop off when you are due back.

My advice pay the extra and park long stay.

Interesting thread .... you recommend not using, yet cite no reason other than having to leave the keys so they can park the car elsewhere.

I've used Silver parking for years and never had any problems of any kind.

Also having used Long Stay, it is usually just as quick ... if not quicker, to get back to your car with Silver. When it's busy, it's not easy to find a space in Long Stay which is close enough to the terminal to allow walking with hold baggage. If you can't walk it, then the wait for the bus is longer than that in Silver.

ETA - I also quite like the fact with Silver that there is no chance of losing my car keys whilst away or the airline losing a bag with my keys in it (and before you suggest keeping keys in hand luggage, I've had hand luggage taken off me and put in the hold due to space issues in the past!)

Ive also used the silver zone with no problems.

I was slightly uncomfortable with leaving my keys but you pass through a set of vehicle damage recognition cameras as you drive in so any damage caused by onsite staff should be provable.

I don’t leave my keys with anyone, no one else drives my cars. They are serviced by a trusted local guy that I use that I am with when the work is done.

The car I used today is filthy as been doing airport trips back to back and not had time to clean it. So no doubt they won’t spot that is not marked underneath.

Just letting people know.

I don't have time to sit and oversee a mechanic who is working on any of my cars wink

Mine was a mess more so then when I left it. Radio station changed (how long were they in the car for) seat moved air controls changed. Lights turned off, I leave them on auto.

Never ever again!

They park them down the far end of the runway in a compound.
They get dusty from the near proximity to the take off point .

Look down next time you fly and you will see them.

I have plenty of gripes with Bristol airport but have to say that apart from a dusty car we have had no problems with silver zone.

I use silver zone, and have never had a problem, granted they move your seat, but how else do you expect them to drive the car if its owner is a four foot midget, I have the same problem with my daughters car, cant even get in it without moving the seat

Well found my answer Heathrow. South Wales to Heathrow. Home to gate only 40 mins longer. Choice of lights nice airport easy parking much better experience.

Bristol airport quickly loosing my custom. For the record I fly every week for work. Once the smaller airports were the best. Clearly they think anymore.

I used silver zone and when I checked my dashcam footage I saw that the driver who moved the car let it roll into a fence because they hadn't set the parking brake. There was no physical damage but it shows the lack of care. They offered me 25% discount for the next time I used them which I won't be doing.

Are you using time travel for it to only take an extra 40mins to get to Heathrow?
