Hello all,

Northern monkey, fairly new to bristol, I'm looking to get into the car scene round here.
Any suggestions on where to start, or any active local forums?
Currently driving a Z4.

I really want to get stuck into a project car, but I haven't got the space for one where I live.
I'm an electrical engineer by trade, but I'm alright with mechanics aswell, I've muddled my way through an engine conversion before, so if anyone needs a hand, give me a shout!

There is a very popular free meet in Queen Square, Central Bristol - every second Sunday of the month usually starts 0800 done by 1200.

Anything goes, very friendly although might quieten down this time of year.

By nature of its popularity I think an additional 'controlled' event is being planned.

Welcome to the land of the 'Southern Fairy's is it'?! As Rich says the meet in Queens square is always a good start, one on this coming Sunday too. I also try to go to the Haynes Motor Museum first Sunday of the month too as again great selection of cars and a great crowd!

A few mates and myself are involved in a recently launched forum called KitNet.uk, it's predominantly kit car orientated atm but is actually open to anyone to join. Plenty of banter, tons of expertise on there and lots of regular meets, runs, blats, shows etc etc. A few of us will be at the Avenue Drivers Club Queen Square Breakfast meet this Sunday at about 8.00am ish, come say hello if you can (look for my red and black exoskeleton BEC, it's not hard to find!)

PS make sure you go to Queen Square (no S!!) NOT Queens Square or you'll be in the wrong place!! 95% of people get the name wrong!!
