A bit random: does anyone have a bus?
Discussion
Friend of mine is getting married later this year at Castle Combe (not the circuit!). The reception is in a marquee near the parking area at the top of the village, the ceremony is in the church - about 1/2 mile separates them. As it's a steep hill and various elderly relatives etc. they wanted to bus them down to the church and back up again. Local coach company wants £400.

In 1996 I organised the Rover P5B club's national rally, on the Saturday at Castle Combe to coincide with the Classic Car Action Day, on the Sunday at Bowood House.
To give wives and kids something to do other than watch classic cars going around the circuit all day, I got a classic bus (Bristol L5G) to run a shuttle service between the circuit and the village. The "contribution towards further restoration" (they weren't allowed to charge a fee as such) was £80 and, although that was 20 years ago, I would have doubted that a classic bus owner would want anywhere near £400. provided they weren't based too far away.
Try contacting the Bristol Vintage Bus Group to see what they have to say: http://bvbg.org.uk/
PS - the one I used was one of these, and I believe it was the first and last time that such a vehicle has ever appeared in the pages of Classic & Sports Car

Totally off topic, but I've just dug out the photos of the rally - 17th August 1996
The bus I actually wanted was the one I posted yesterday (LHT 911) - I probably went to school on it once or twice
Unfortunately the then owner had just died so it was unavailable, but the Cotswold PSV Group helped out with their example in Southern National livery.
Those of "a certain age" may remember these buses on the 128 route between Bristol and Chippenham via Chipping Sodbury. As we had the Southern National "stand in" we could have the route number, but the destination blind had to be showing somewhere that Southern National service 128 went
