Plea to help out the ex mother in law!
And no it isn't to put her into the boot after I've murdered her...We actually get on fantastically. She is 70 years of age and being passively bullied to the point she is in tears daily. She lives on the ground floor of a detached two flat building. Yes, those that bully her are upstairs.

I've no idea why it's started as they have lived there for 20 years and although not close always got on and passed pleasantries.

Now though it's as if they want to drive her mad...noisy washing machines and driers on through the night and all sorts of stuff that as a constant has ground her down. This includes completely taking over the communal outside space by parking 3 cars, one of which is in mother in laws spot without so much as a by or leave.

Now.....as much as I fancy smashing his and his streak of sweat sons faces in she has to remain there so my first intention is to reclaim a parking space by putting a preferably large car there to fester nicely. It would need at least a couple of days mot to drive it there though.

Happy to pay of course but cheaper the better! I just cannot stand bullies especially to old ladies...and yes it's incredibly hard in all seriousness not to relieve him of the ability to walk...but I won't!

So...anyone in the sw able to help much appreciated. Mum in law is in Langport. ...I'm in tickenham

Sorry to hear of your issues, it is always tricky when neighbours decide to become idiots.

I have a friend who is selling a Jeep for around the £200 mark. That is rather big and would suit your needs rather well smile

You could always just tow something without an mot and plonk it there.

Doesn't really solve the underlying issues though, the revenge will be short lived and not that sweet. Are there any official channels for complaint instead?

Probably a strange question, but has she spoken to them about any of this, or has it gradually built up from lots of "not worth bothering about" increments that have sloly festered and angered to the point where she's at the end of her tether?

I've seen this, and experienced it from both sides in an old block in Brighton where the woman renting upstairs was childminding (and took up the carpets to save wear and tear) but the thud from my speakers drove the chap downstairs mental as he worked shifts but never said.

Indeed, sadly official channels have been unable to help as it is very underhand tactics that are being played. Washers on at bad times. Parking spaces taken up. Cars being worked on and revved under her bedroom window sporadically. Weirdly pictures being taken of outside all the time.

I'm not looking at this through rose tinted specs, she really is probably one of the nicest people I have ever met, and it's ruining her life, the constant drip of negativity is ruining her life.

Letters have been sent, Police informed but as they have said unless it's a breach of the peace and or direct harassment their hands are tied.

Thanks for the pointers and offers chaps. £300 a bit ripe but the focus may be worth a nose if nothing pops up. biggrin

Much as I would share your desire to try and inconvenience these scrotes, playing Devil's Advocate .....

You say it's a communal parking area, but then suggest they are taking your ex-MIL's space ..... surely it's either Communal or Allocated, and unless it's Allocated then all you can do is attempt to piss them off a bit.

By the sound of it, she doesn't have a car otherwise it would be parked there anyway.

Is the parking area private land?

If not then surely the heap will need to be Taxed and Insured?

Is it worth the expense?

Dumping a stter in the space might make you and your ex-MIL feel better for a short time, but I think you might find it's a short lived "win".

Given your background, might it not be better to have a chat with them, it's possible they simply don't realise what impact their actions are having on your ex-MIL.

However if, as expected, they prove to be ignorant aholes, then might I suggest concrete wellies and the River Parrot ......

ETA - you posted with more info as I was composing....

How's about your ex-MIL invites you and a few of your TVR owning mates round for a bacon butty early one Sunday morning. Let them know what the sound of revving engines really fking sounds like!

Ah yes sorry sgrimshaw I should have corrected my initial post, the outside area is for allocated parking for both flats, half of the ground each as it were, M-in-laws nearest the property, upstairs on the other side. So, they have in effect taken her spot.

I am tempted to buy and store a caravan on the spot......that's another option.

You make a good point re my background. I did have a chat initially and they made the right noises however nothing has borne fruition. They know how far to push the law and have obviously studied environmental noise issues as they are sadly not breaking any laws but are being incredibly rude and well.....inhuman.

I will obviously stay within the law, but it's difficult as it wouldn't take much for me to reduce the streak of p1ss to component parts including his two 20 year old sons.

scratchchin softly softly catchee monkey I think.

And yes, concrete wellies straight in the parrot is a fantastic idea, it's literally 50 yards away biggrin

This is exactly the sort of thread I need to show my missus!

We are looking at getting our own house on leaving the army and she doesnt understand why I am so adamant that I want a house that is preferably detached, semi at a push and with off road parking or a garage. For some reason people seem to be arse holes for no reason so the further we can be from potential arse holes the better!

Thanks Phumy but just because I donned a uniform made me no different especially as I also spent a lot of time dealing with many many domestic and neighbour disputes but also know just how far to go to remain legal. Sadly so do many people so the law can't officially help them. Thanks for the good wishes though hehe

I have a 53 plate renault megane. It has an MOT until October, however it needs new coil packs. You can have it in the condition it's in.

You could get a couple of parking posts to drill & cement into her space on a day they move the car out of it. If that space is officially allocated to her.

Hi chaps. Sorry for the delay in replying to your posts and very much appreciate the offers of help. However I do believe the problem has been solved. I arranged to meet with said neighbours and since then matters have improved significantly.
