Hi,I have been a Lotus Esprit owner for the last 30 years (owned at least five)but after all these years have decided to put up for sale my last one and will be looking for an Audi R8.I am interested in one in Scotland but have never experienced one,is there any one who has one locally that could show me the ropes and take me for a spin in one as I don't fancy going all the way to Scotland to experience my first one. Thanks Paul (espritmania)

You may be best to ask in the South West section.

The R8 will probably be in a different league to the Esprit in terms of comfort, especially for a passenger. Must be more like a super quick Audi TT than a barebones 80s performance car.

Cant help with getting you to see one in the flesh I’m afraid, but i have driven one.

They are great cars, and get a lot of looks etc, but honestly, you could almost be driving a Audi A4, which your wife will love, they are clean, modern and comfortable, but you may struggle a little.

That’s why I didn’t look any further, just didn’t have a sense of occasion (and we lowered the budget in the end)
