Acommodation recommendations near Bristol

Hi there,

My dad and I are hopefully flying into Bristol on Thursday to pick up a car.

The flight arrives at 16:20, we will be collecting it and then going somewhere overnight and setting off for Scotland in the morning. I was wondering if anyone has any recommendations for somewhere to stay near Bristol, close to main travel links.

The car is actually in Melksham, but due to having to fly down we are meeting the seller at the airport.

Gordano services on the M5 just West of Bristol has a hotel which is right on the motorway and really convenient for the airport, but a boring place to stay.
A couple of 'lies off the same motorway junction is Gordano Gate where there is a premier inn and an attached pub. Not 5 star but at least you can get some beer to wash the food down.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I was all set to book the Angel Inn however I have been over-ruled as my dad wants to get somewhere further north.

So we're staying in Tewkesbury and making the trip north on Friday. Thanks for the suggestions though guys, they all looked great and given the low cost of flights to Bristol I'm thinking of a wee holiday sometime around the area.
