Explosion near Stonehenge this morning?

I was driving along the A303 this morning and just before Stonehenge I saw an explosion and large fire ball about 1-2 miles south east. I expected it was a military explosion but looking on the map it looks like private land down that way. Also it was about 6.20am. Would the Army be blowing stuff up at this time of the morning?

I don't see anything on the news.

They are conducting firepower demonstrations at the moment. Basically testing out all their kit for people to see.

Pure speculative, but it's possible that during prep they found the device was faulty and so they decided to condemn it by just setting it off before the demo. I've seen such things done before.
