Hi,

Seriously considering pulling the trigger on an 05 Clio Cup. Other than the main dealers, any reputable independents/specialists daarrnn saarfff that could look after it for me?

Thanks in advance
Tuan

SJM in Glastonbury. One of the best RS specialists in the UK, not the cheapest, but cheaper than the dealer, and probably does a better job than the dealer too.

Are you looking at an actual cup or a cup packed model? I have a cup packed '05 black gold 182 and I live in Street, so I'm pretty close to his shop, any questions about the 182 in general or SJM just ask!

Hi, it's a genuine 05 cup. Both option packs and air con and cruise. 58k ish. Part dealer, part indie and part self serviced history inc cambelt and pretensioner thing. Looks clean and tidy and K Tec remapped it for a genuine 183BHP.

It's reasonable money based on what's on a Autotrader and I trust the seller as we have some history.

I'd personally want to take it straight to a reputable and just give them £XXX budget and give it a service and any smallish fix it things/mods.

How does your garage compare to K Tec? They're not a million miles away.

Also what's your real world mileage? It'll be my daily for 120 mile round trip. Mostly motorway so by rights, I should just buy another diesel hack, but I can't help myself...

Thanks again, Tuan.

If its an 05 it should be coming up on its second belt job being due unless it was just done. Every 5 years regardless of mileage, and the 36k with aux belt job is critical, a failed aux belt leads to most snapped cam belts.

Unfortunately that's not a true cup, you have the same thing I do, called a full fat, base 182 with the cup suspension and cup spoilers. The actual cup had no AC/cruise/climate/xenons, etc

Real world mileage- On B roads I get 33mpg daily, on the motorway or a road where I can maintain a constant speed I get closer to 40.

SJM is comparable to K-tec, his place is not as "blingy" but he absolutely knows what he is doing and wont try and charge you for stuff unnecessarily like some places will. People drive from all over the UK to go to him.

Check out cliosport.net for all the information you can handle!

Another recommendation for Dan at SJM in Glastonbury!

Nice guy, really knows his stuff and usually has some interesting builds going on for customers

If you sign up the the ClioSport.net forums he has a traders section which usually has a deal or two for certain packages (such as belt swaps)
