There seems to be a bit of a gap in the CAR EVENTS LIST thread for this weekend, is there anything on in the South West?

Went to a hillclimb there last year. Take some wellies if it rains - quite a steep grassy and often muddy walk from the spectator car park.

However, open paddock to wander around, should be some amazing machinery.

Oh, and appalling catering - take a packed lunch or stop in at the White Horse on the way.

I have to go to Sidmouth this weekend to pick a bike up for a mate, might manage to tie it in with a trip to the climb.

Attended VSCC Wiscombe many times. The sights, the sounds, the smell of Castrol-R, seeing priceless Bugattis and ERAs tearing up the hill - always a treat.

Catering at Prescott is really quite good in the Club House - the cold buffet is a really good deal

There's a sprint at Llandow if you're not too far from Cardiff. Wiscombe is a fantastic venue, but has no facilities.

BTCC is at Thruxton if that's of interest

As said, Wiscombe is a great climb. The facilities are lacking compared to others, as has been mentioned, but the hill more than makes up for it imo. One of the most daunting climbs, especially as my first one was in the wet eek

I'm planning to go to the BTCC at Thruxton this weekend, been a good season so far. Still not entirely convinced on the new rules.

Don't forget Queen's Square on as well!

Not worth visiting unless you live in Thorverton.
