Alternatively don't underestimate the fun that can be had showing the locals an iPhone. Of course they'll refer to you as "magic man with oblong candle" but there's still fun to be had.
Or.... Find the nearest 24 hour Asda and confuse the security guards by sidling up to them and saying "Zone nine is ready for operation catchpole, I've got your six"
ETA - go to the Dick Lovett showroom. They normally have some lovely metal in stock and are normally very receptive to people having a look round, not sure what time they close though.
