Looking to move to/near Bristol. Will need to travel in to the centre but will be done mostly out of rush hour.

I have up to £1,000 pcm rent for somewhere decent for two people. Need parking for three cars (including ideally a garage).

I don't know the area, any suggestions please!

Thanks!

Do you want town life or country? There's lots of options so it depends what you want.

I would look at Portishead in that case. Got loads going on without being in town, nice Marina, countryside close by etc.

Funny you should say that, we were window licking this last night.....

Parking would be an issue though.......? We have two normal cars, plus I have the TVR which needs somewhere under cover and secure.

Parking is an issue around the marina although on the Port Marine side (the other side from that apartment) its a bit better. If you choose the Vale area then its better again while still being close enough to everything and probably a bit cheaper.

Thanks for the replies.

I think I'm going to look in Bristol itself. I'll look at almost anything as long as it has parking and a garage for the Tiv.

Good luck with that. Houses actually in Bristol with off-street parking, let alone any form of garage, very much in the minority. Far more likelihood in the suburbs.

Agree with Yertis, if parking for 2 cars and a garage are non-negotiable then you will have to look a few miles out of Bristol rather than 'actually in Bristol' where the housing stock is older and you'll get on street parking, or a single place, rather than a decent drive and garage, sorry.

Ok thanks

I'm now looking at other areas. I can live up to 60mins away so I'll look for something cheaper further out with lots of parking.

60 mins away from Bristol? My commute is 45 mins and I'm west of Cardiff wobble

Have a look at Whitchurch sort of area (avoiding Knowle and Hartcliffe)
quiet
loads of space to park
not always looking out onto someone else
not to bad cost wise, Supermarket, pubs, and little groups of shops all nearby.
