Yate Spur cycle path
Discussion
I don't consider myself a 'cyclist' per se as I believe bicycles are too vulnerable to share the roads with motorized traffic. I choose to cycle to the shops and occasionally to work etc via cycle paths as a mode of transport, rather than a pursuit or hobby in itself.
To get cyclists, myself included, off the roads more cycle paths are needed.
If you happen to agree please sign the petition here to complete the Yate Spur which connects Yate & Sodbury with Westerleigh and on to the Bristol-Bath Railway Path and beyond.
It may help keep motorists happy by getting more bicycles off the roads and help make cyclists safer.

I thought that that scheme was already moving forward - certainly the vegetation had been cut back between the end of the existing path at Coxgrove Hill near Parkfield Rank and the M4 bridge just to the south of Westerleigh sidings (remains of) a year or so ago when I was last down there.
Has it fallen victim to cuts or something?
