How hard have you looked?

There are several on PH for sale at the moment, one of which is in Devon.

I know someone who had one in Somerset, whereabouts are you?

I'd have to check if he still has it and if he'd be prepared to let you take a shuffty.

Does it have to be an STI. Most of the 2.5 Turbo models are a whole heap of fun and quick to drive.

Anything in particular wrong with one of these, at 35k miles on the clock and 252 bhp.

Other than it's not an STI.

hmmm- that does look quite nice and has low mileage, but doesn't it seem a little pricey?

I spotted a white one with PH smiley on the rear in Plymouth earlier this week, so there is potentially a PHer here who can help out.

I've got a Forester STI from Torque GT. If your seriously considering buying one, I would definitely buy it through them. I'm based in Plymouth if you want a look at the car. It's not standard though wink

I posted about you earlier in this thread and in the South West spotted thread! Noticed the PH smiley the other day in Plymouth.

Thanks for posting, really hard to find an owner to get a perspective! I don't suppose you have done a thread or have any pictures of the machine? What are they like to live with, I'm hoping lots of grip a punchy engine and oodles of boot space. Currently have a cooper s running 250bhp which is quick but struggles for grip and boot space is terrible.
I haven't done a thread yet, but have documented all modifications etc. Will put it up as soon as I get the chance. It's a great car to live with. Can fit 5 people + 2 dogs in the boot if you need to! Engine wasn't standard from Japan, which I didn't realise until I had it Dyno'd. Was already approx 340hp now it's about 350hp but with massively increased torque. Can't say what a standard one would feel like to drive unfortunately. With a good remap and Miltek exhaust system the power delivery is immense!

I used to have a R53 Cooper S, but it was only running approx 180hp (I know what you mean about space though!) In terms of handling the Forester is a different animal altogether. You can push it alot further due to the AWD and the chassis holds up well in the corners. Again mine has Tein coilovers, so can't compare with a standard car.

I use mine daily but work from home. If I had to commute in it, I'd need shares in Shell!

Like I said before, the guys at Torque GT are second to none. They are the only people I would use for importing now. If you speak to Darren who deals with selecting the cars and mention my car, he can tell you all about the process.

If you've got any other questions, i'd be happy to answer them. Cheers bud.

It's irrelevant now anyway as the owner has had a change of heart and isn't selling anymore. If he changes his mind again i'll point him to this thread. I'm selling an '05 Impreza STI with Prodrive Pack in lovely condition if you fancy something a bit more aggressive. Not a wagon, but i've never struggled with luggage space.
