Mendip brunch blast - This Sunday 26th October

Hi all,

Other than the regular meet near Bristol airport, I don't think I've attended a meet since the Midnight run back in June! Mainly because, I don't think there have been very many organised.

So I thought it was about time that we did something!

This Sunday, the weather (according to accuweather and the (not so) faithful BBC forecasts) is meant to be dry on Sunday morning.
So I propose that we meet at the Lillypool Café (BS25 1RQ), http://www.lillypoolcafe.co.uk/index.html, at a leisurely 1000am, and then at around 1115am head towards Cheddar, and up onto the Mendips (for a different routing to my normal runs!) to finish up at The Old Inn in Congresbury http://www.rampubcompany.co.uk/visit-pubs/show/100... (BS49 5DH), which will be opening at around the same time as we arrive (midday). So if anyone fancies more food, or something to drink and a chat, they can gorge themselves to their hearts content!

I cant commit at the moment as I am pretty stacked out with work and having just moved. But, I will put a reminder on my calendar to come back and make a decision on Saturday.

Got a couple friends interested. They dont usually bail last minute. But only one will be driving.

There's a 205 GTI meet at cheddar tomorrow at about 11, with a drive out to a pub afterwards, so don't forget to wave as you drive past!

Built it in 2005 then shipped it to the USA and drove it coast to coast

Was it hard to get into the country? I thought 7-esque cars were impossible to get in the states due to crash safety stuff.

I should have enough time to be there at 11 and tag along just for the drive, just so you know if anyone wonders why I'm just sitting in the car; most likely won't bother bringing my wheelchair as I'm not eating, so I won't be able to get out (plus weight reduction helps ).
