... well they might well do this morning after a burst water main in Kingswood flooded homes and damaged a gas main.

http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-england-bristol-29369...

I've been without water since 5pm last night and just popped into Asda Longwell Green to get a few small bottles of water for drinking. Evidence of the usual panic buying in there and quite amusing (sorry!!) to see people walking up the drinks aisle with bottles of water only to realise they've got sparkling and walking back down again.... hehe

Early indications suggest it will be late this afternoon before supplies are all back on. Off to work in a non-affected area soon so shall be using their, ahem, facilities and the kids are now off school today as well. First day of the Ryder Cup so they'll be chuffed when they wake up.

I got stuck in the melee that was the burst Watermain on the A4174 Bromley heath Roundabout/ Frome Valley Bridge the other month...Looking at the water then it was a distinct shade of brown, lots of white "foam" and stunk...left a fair sized tide mark afterwards too!

Thankfully then its location was such that the water cascaded over the bridge into the valley below. I feel sorry for anyone who has suffered as a consequence in Kingswood...
