Gearbox Specialist's in Bristol.

PH Massive! My car has a damaged 'box and I need it looked it. I've been recommended "The Transmission Workshop" on Winterstoke road to do it and I was wondering about everyones opnions on them.

a friend had his gearbox taken out at pro garage in warmley and then they used a specialist, so worth ringing them for their recommendation and advice

I have only had the need once to use a gearbox specialist and I chose to use Gloucester Road Gearboxes (not on Gloucester Road). The box on my mk3 Golf GTI developed a serious bearing whine which required a recon unit. First off they replaced it with a unit with a different ratio so it had to go back, then this unit started to leak oil so it had to go back again.

It was many years ago and this is only one customers experience so make of it what you will.
