The last few evenings around 5.00pm the stealth bomber has flown over Cirencester. Taken off from Fairford and practising for RIAT I guess.

That is one wierd fish! yes

Looks straight out of a sci-fi film

Neither of the B2's, or any of the B52's that are at Fairford this week, will be displaying at RIAT - they are in the UK to take part in a NATO exercise.

The USAF might be having a B52 as a static display, as they did in 2012, however they are not being flown this year.

There are a couple based at Fairford at the moment for training exercises, not RIAT.

Keep missing it frown Have just seen a pair of F22 Raptors though.

EDIT: Not F22s. The person who told me they were is an idiot! No idea what they actually were.

Had a couple of heli's fly over the house together today, couldn't see whether they were Merlin or Puma (or something different again) though.

There are also 3 B52's at Fairford too at the moment. If you are interested have a look at www.fightercontrol.com both under the RAF Fairford tag and Current Military pics.

Dear o,

saw both B2 & B52 this week over my on Phoenix Way. Where are you?
The B2 wasn't that stealthy to my ears. Bloody noisy in fact!

Jet

That's what caught my attention, and that was just at cruising.

No you are so right - it was the noise that attracted me to look out of the window. I enjoyed the irony of telling my son that it was a stealth bomber hehe

I am in Chezzy! smile (or off Somerford Road if you are posh like Mrs O hehe)

I see that the B52's have not yet left Fairford.

Two of the smoky buggers have just flown right over my house in Gloucester!!

Awesome to see them in the air rather than on the ground.

I really hope that they hang around for RIAT.

Another awesome view of the B52 as one flew low over Gloucester just after 6.15pm this evening.

They look so angry & menacing.

Apparently they will all leave early AM tomorrow (Friday) as the exercise has ended.
